INTRODUCTION
This Diploma in TESOL is designed for those who are interested to pursue a career in teaching English as a Second Language or Foreign Language. It provides you with the proper tools needed to help you embark on your career as an English teacher. For the experienced teacher, it gives you the chance to improve on your teaching skills and to obtain a recognised qualification for your own career advancement. This programme is internationally recognised and would be useful in providing mid-career and new teachers an opportunity to become English teachers worldwide.
COURSE STRUCTURE
To qualify for the Diploma in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) students must complete the following:
- Six (6) Modules consisting of Teaching Language Principles, Teaching of 4 Language Skills, Language Systems and Grammer, Classroom Management, Assessing ESL Learners and Teaching Creative Writing.
- One (1) Teaching Practicum and,
- 30 Hours Practical Teaching (Optional).
Practice Teaching (Optional)
30 hours of Teaching Practice cum Classroom Observation TESOL Training Centre Malaysia offers a supervised practicum that is designed to provide teachers with the opportunity to apply theory and practice in the field of English as a second language. Trainees will have the opportunity to observe ESL experienced teachers. Students will plan lessons, teach in an observed situation, and receive feedback and guidance on their teaching.
MODE OF DELIVERY
Blended learning includes face-to-face lectures, classroom discussion, hands-on training activities and teaching practice.
MODE OF ASSESSMENT
Written Assignments and Practical Teachings.
ADMISSION CRITERIA
In order for you to gain entry into the Diploma in TESOL, all trainees need to have a sound level of ability in written and spoken English.
